It's with a heavy heart that I share this blog post with you today. I know many of you have family members who have battled cancer in some way and will be able to relate to Meghan's story. I woke up very early this morning and saw her blog post. I read it, tears slowly dripping down my face, since I personally know the people involved. The line I love the most is her last sentence. Since I know her mom, I know that what she said is absolutely true; it's true of anyone battling cancer. Take some time to read her post. After I took some time to pray for her and her family, I thought about you and your writing. Meghan's blog is a perfect example of someone who is using a blog for a real-life purpose beyond school and academic requirements. You can hear her voice as she writes. Can YOU hear Meghan's voice in her piece? How would you describe it? How can you write with your own voice on YOUR blog?
You might also want to read Meghan's post about Justin Bieber's latest lapse in judgement and there are others you'd be interested in, too. The neat thing is Meghan is a freshman at Syracuse University. She grew up in Michigan and her family now lives in Houston, Texas. She is still a correspondent for the newspaper in Galveston, Texas and wrote for them while she was a high school student! I know several of you can't believe you can get PAID to write and blog. It's true! Meghan is a perfect example. She is someone who has actively pursued a dream and is making it happen.
